Annual Meeting Wrap Up:

We had our annual meeting on Saturday, 22 February 2009.
Thanks to all who attended and sent in votes.

Annual Meeting  Meeting In Progress

The biggest news is we elected a new board:

Thai-American Association of Milwaukee Board from 2009-2010

President:  Manit Auvuchanon
Vice-President:  Phenjun "Phen" Mida
Secretary:  Lakanawan "Tik" Macioce
Treasurer:  Boonphen "Phen" Melrose

Manit has served before and has been with the group
since the very beginning 30 years ago!
It's great to have him involved.

Phenjun has been a great help behind the scenes for years,
including assisting with treasurer duties the past two years.
Now, she will continue her great service as Vice-President.

Lakanawan is relatively new to our group,
having only been in Milwaukee for a little over a year.
During that time she has assisted with secretarial duties
and danced with our performance group.

Boonphen served the past two years as vice-president.
With a little arm twisting we were able to convince her to continue
her service as treasurer.  We value her experience with the Association.

New and Old Board

The whole Association thanks the previous board:

Apinya "Nong" Jordan
Boonphen "Phen" Melrose
Sirirut "Jeab" Jaikongla
Pongtip "Tip" Gillette

2009 Events

We've already gotten started with 2009 events.
Our dance troupe performed at the
St. Sava's Serbian School fundraiser on Valentine's Day.
Thank you ladies for helping the greater Milwaukee community.

2008 Wrap Up

We had a very busy year.

In April, we visited Marquette University and danced as part of an evening learning about Marquette's unique collection of Thai art.
Our annual Thai Night was a big success in May.  We even managed to get some videos on YouTube.
Two dance performances in June...
One in Chicago for Thailand Festival,
and one in Madison as part of an Olbrich Gardens fundraiser.
July, we rested.
Then in August we had great turn out for our annual picnic.

And the big one, in November, we had another very successful Holiday Folk Fair International.
